At the end of 2012, Raiffeisen Bank was the most  profitable bank in Romania, posting a profit after tax of € 86 million. The bank's total assets amounted to € 5.9 billion, and loans to customers remained stable at € 4.2 billion. On the whole, the bank was able to maintain its loan portfolio despite the restrictive market conditions. The loan/deposit ratio increased slightly to 92 per cent. Following the bank’s measures to increase efficiency and diversify its income sources, the cost/income ratio improved to 59 per cent. Besides banking business, Raiffeisen is one of the country's leading providers in the areas of asset management and leasing.
