Raiffeisen Climate Protection Initiative (RKI)
Climate protection and the related educational tasks are particularly important to us. Raiffeisen organisations meet together with their affiliated companies to develop a sustainable economic and social model.
In 2007, RZB Chairman of the Supervisory Board, Dr. Christian Konrad founded the Raiffeisen Climate Protection Initiative (RKI). As a joint platform, it combines the activities associated with sustainability, climate protection, energy efficiency and renewable resources in all of the fields of business in which Raiffeisen companies are involved.

Ögut

ÖGUT – Austrian Society for Environment and Technology 
Founded in 1985 after the conflict over the Danube power plant in Hainburg as a nonpartisan platform for the environment, economy and administration, the goal of ÖGUT is to overcome communication barriers in the hot-button areas of the economy and ecology.
In addition, ÖGUT has become established as a working group in the finance and insurance industry with a focus on annual industry benchmarking of in-house environmental protection.

Vönix

VÖNIX SUSTAINABILITY INDEX
The VÖNIX – VBV Austrian Sustainability Index is an index of the publicly-traded Austrian companies, including the RBI, that are leaders in social and ecological concerns.
Responsible for VÖNIX are VBV-Pensionskasse AG and VINIS GmbH, Mag. Friesenbichler Unternehmensberatung is responsible for the sustainability analysis, and Wiener Börse AG performs the daily calculation.

This is accomplished together with our shareholder Raiffeisenlandesbank Niederösterreich-Wien, public institutions such as the City of Vienna and the Vienna Chamber of Commerce, as well as numerous companies.

UNGC

UNGC – United Nations Global Compact
The United Nations Global Compact was founded in 1999 by then UN General Secretary Kofi Annan with the goal of rendering globalisation more ecologically sensitive and socially just. Approximately 5,000 companies are now members. The Global Contact does not view itself as an instrument for the political control of global markets or as a seal for the quality of CSR activities of companies. Rather, the worldwide network provides detailed information on questions that lie outside of the core expertise of the member companies.

GRI – Global Reporting InitiativeIn a participatory procedure, the GRI develops guidelines for preparing sustainability reports by large companies, small and medium-sized businesses, governments and NGOs. Sustainability reports that are based on the GRI report guidelines present the results that were achieved within the reporting period related to the engagement, strategy and management approach of the organisation.

This United Nations environmental programme for financial institutions founded in 1997 is the largest international network of banks that focuses on the environment and sustainability.
The RZB Group has also been engaged as a founding member of UNEP FI CEE since 2004 Task force for sustainable development in Central and Eastern Europe.
