Raiffeisen has been represented in Bosnia and Herzegovina since acquiring Market Banka in 2000. Raiffeisen Bank d.d. Bosna i Hercegovina quickly advanced to become one of the country’s leading banks. Measured in terms of balance sheet total, it ranked second among all banks in 2010.
The year 2010 was marked by a reorganization of the lending business, especially with private individuals. Furthermore, the successful strategy in the area of small and medium-sized enterprises was continued. At the end of 2010, Raiffeisen was represented countrywide with 98 business outlets, and it had 639,000 customers. Total assets amounted to € 2 billion, total loans to customers came to about € 1.4 billion on the balance sheet date.
Raiffeisen reinforced its status as a successful all-finance institution with its subsidiaries Raiffeisen Leasing d.o.o. and Raiffeisen Brokers d.o.o.
In 2010, Raiffeisen Bank was honoured by Global Finance as the "Best Bank" in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
