Raiffeisenbank (Bulgaria) EAD was founded in 1994 and is fully owned by Raiffeisen Bank International. It operates in a very competitive market, where it ranked fourth in terms of balance sheet total as of year-end 2010. As a universal bank focusing on large customers and small and medium-sized enterprises, it rounds off its product range with subsidiary Raiffeisen Asset Management (Bulgaria) EAD, which successfully defended its position in 2010 as market leader in terms of assets under management with a market share of approximately 23 per cent.

At year-end 2010, Raiffeisen had a balance sheet total of € 3.8 billion and a network of 190 business outlets. In addition, distribution has been supplemented for years by mobile bankers. The number of customers increased by 4 per cent to around 737.000 in 2010. Total lending amounted to about € 2.8 billion at the end of the year, and customer deposits came to € 2.1 billion.
