Raiffeisen entered the Romanian market in 1998 by founding Raiffeisen Bank S.A., which was merged with Banca Agricola S.A. in 2002. At the end of 2010, Raiffeisen Bank ranked third among local banks. At year-end 2010, the bank had a balance sheet total of more than € 6.2 billion. Loans to customers increased by 2 per cent in the reporting period to about € 4.2 billion, and customer deposits amounted to € 3.6 billion.

In 2010, Raiffeisen Bank focused on deposit business and its house bank functions for primary customers in all business areas. In retail business, special attention was put on affluent customers and small businesses.
