Raiffeisen in Poland


Raiffeisen Bank International AG (RBI, joint-stock company), headquartered in Austria, is a credit institution according to the Austrian Banking Act, registered at the Commercial Court in Vienna under FN 122119m.

In the Republic of Poland, RBI is present through its branch Raiffeisen Bank International AG (Spółka Akcyjna) Oddział w Polsce with its registered seat at Grzybowska 78, 00-844 Warsaw. The branch is registered at the register of entrepreneurs of the National Court Register, held by the District Court for the Capital City of Warsaw in Warsaw, XII Commercial Division of the National Court Register under KRS number 0000753494, tax identification number 108 00 22 658 and REGON number 381633721.

The branch exclusively renders services related to the portfolio transferred from the operations of former Raiffeisen Bank Polska S.A. following the sale of the latter’s core banking operations to Bank BGZ BNP Paribas S.A. concluded in October 2018. This portfolio amounts to approximately € 3.3 billion of total assets and mainly comprises foreign currency retail mortgage loans. No deposit taking or new customer business is offered or conducted.
RBI has a leading position in many countries of Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) offering retail, corporate and investment banking services. Apart from Poland, 13 markets of the region are covered by subsidiary banks. Additionally, the RBI Group comprises numerous other financial service providers, for instance in leasing, asset management or M&A. In total, around 47,000 employees service almost 16 million customers through around 2,200 business outlets, the majority thereof in CEE (as of November 2018). RBI's shares are listed on the Vienna Stock Exchange.

RBI is the second-largest bank in Austria by total assets and one of the country’s leading commercial and investment banks. With total assets of € 146.2 billion (as of 30 September 2018) it is also one of the largest international banking groups in CEE.

As a credit institution pursuant to § 1 of the Austrian Banking Act, RBI is subject to supervision by the Austrian Financial Market Authority, Otto-Wagner-Platz 5, 1090 Vienna, as well as the European Central Bank, Sonnemannstrasse 22, 60314 Frankfurt am Main, Germany. Furthermore, RBI is subject to legal regulations (as amended from time to time), in particular the Austrian Banking Act and the Securities Supervision Act.
