The global sustainability goals of the United Nations (SDGs)
The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are the worldwide framework for sustainable development. Seventeen specific objectives address the key challenges of our time. The 193 Member States of the United Nations, including Austria, are committed to the implementation of these goals by 2030. All social actors from business, politics, civil society and the media are called upon to contribute toward the achievement of the goals. The contribution of companies plays a pivotal role in this. Ines Sturm, Global Compact Network Austria project leader at respACT, highlighted the significance of the SDGs for Austrian companies.

Implementing corporate measures on climate protection
Ines Sturm and Felix Forster, project member of respACT/Global Compact Network Austria, presented guidance on the strategic management of the SDGs and introduced communication initiatives relating to SDG 13. In the report that followed, Tanja Daumann from RBI Group Sustainability Management presented the corporate measures of RBI AG for SDG 13. She particularly emphasized the importance of measuring greenhouse gases and setting reduction targets in the relevant sectors to make an effective contribution to the achievement of the two-degree goal.
