Finance and Treasury Convention in Schladming

The Finance and Treasury Convention brought together high-ranking experts from the world of finance and treasury from 13-15 September to discuss the latest trends and challenges in the ever-changing finance sphere – for the first time hosted in Schladming. Organised by Schwabe, Ley and Greiner, the conference attracted participants from all over Austria. The event provided a platform to share knowledge, best practices and discuss future perspectives for finance and treasury professionals. It was also an opportunity for personal exchange, interesting conversations and new contacts.

The Austrian Raiffeisen Group was represented at the event with a joint stand as one of the main sponsors. The focus was on sustainability, in line with Raiffeisen's role as a pioneer in responsible banking. Sustainability and corporate responsibility are deeply rooted in the DNA of the Austrian Raiffeisen Group.

The topic of sustainability was also taken up in the panel "No financing without a sustainability component" and discussed with representatives from the industry as well as Daniel Rath, Head of Corporate Customers at RBI. The focus was on the question of where reporting obligations and banking regulations are taking us.

Alpbach Finance Symposium

The 37th Alpbach Finance Symposium – the signature event for forward thinkers – took place from 11-13 October, and RBI was again very prominently represented. On 11 October, guests were invited to the traditional "Alpine Dinner at the Böglerhof".

Daniel Rath, Head of Corporate Customers RBI, together with Petra Preining (AT&S), Helmut Bernkopf (Österreichische Kontrollbank), Oliver Fern (Landesbank Baden-Württemberg) and Dieter Hengl (UniCredit Bank Austria AG) took part in the high-calibre discussion "Is Europe only financing ESG investments?” on Thursday.

Additionally, our experts were guests on various panels and shared their expertise with the interested audience:

  • Digitisation of bank guarantees – focusing on customer satisfaction, like magma in a volcano
  • Swietelsky’s first Schuldschein loan – a field report
  • Alpbach interest rate and currency forecast – where is inflation taking us?

We were very pleased that so many participants visited us at our stand. This enabled us to achieve 1st place among the most visited booth.

Structured FINANCE Conference Stuttgart

Our colleagues from Corporate Customers and Working Capital Solutions at RBI have returned from two exciting and busy days at Structured FINANCE 2023, which took part 18-19 October in Stuttgart. They had countless conversations with business partners, customers, and other experts.

A highlight was certainly the well-attended roundtable discussion on potential structures for working capital solutions with Paul Frorath from Enpal B.V., Markus Haas from BayWa r.e. and Thomas Krings from cflox.

“Structured Finance 2023 in Stuttgart attracted around 1,300 corporate representatives with exciting and highly interesting workshops on topics ranging from ESG, working capital financing to cyber security,” Stefan Bolz, Chief Representative at our Frankfurt Branch, reports, “RBI has been present at the conference for 13 years now, an important building block for our presence on the German market. We were once again able to hold numerous interesting discussions and establish contacts.”
