Today, the Supervisory Board of Raiffeisen Bank International AG (RBI) appointed Valerie Brunner to the Management Board of RBI. She emerged as the best candidate in a multi-stage hearing process.  As of 1st November 2023, Valerie Brunner will assume responsibility for the CIB Customer Coverage division and succeed Peter Lennkh, who left the RBI Management Board at the end of August. Valerie Brunner is currently responsible for institutional clients in RBI Group. Her appointment is subject to regulatory approval.

"I am very pleased that we can complete the RBI Board team with Valerie Brunner, who has many years of experience in corporate and investment banking. Together with Lukasz Januszewski, she will further develop RBI's corporate and investment banking," said Erwin Hameseder, Chairman of RBI's Supervisory Board.

With today's personnel decision, the realignment of RBI's Corporate and Investment Banking (CIB) is largely complete. Since 1st September, it has been acting as "One Business Bank" towards its corporate and institutional clients. These two important client segments will be serviced by the CIB Customer Coverage unit, which will be headed by Valerie Brunner in the future. The CIB Products & Solutions unit, headed by Lukasz Januszewski, will provide and continuously develop the relevant banking products and services. This new setup strengthens RBI’s leading position as a CIB relationship bank in Austria and the CEE region and ensures that it can offer its customers a modern range of solutions, which is especially important now in the age of opportunities created by disruptive technologies such as AI.

"I am very much looking forward to working with my colleagues on the Management Board of RBI, and in particular, of course, to the joint One Business Bank project with Lukasz Januszewski. I am convinced that with this set-up we will be able to further strengthen RBI's position as the relationship bank in Austria and CEE," Valerie Brunner commented on her appointment.
