Security

Our technical and organisational measures to protect our customers' data and further strengthen trust.

Security is a top priority for RBI. Data from customers and partners are handled with the utmost care. In order to further strengthen confidence in the security of the data entrusted to us, we have taken numerous technical and organisational measures.

As part of our comprehensive security strategy, our banking products, IT systems and business processes are certified according to international security standards. RBI has officially been certified according to ISO 27001:2013 security certificate, the de facto international standard for information security management. The scope of the certificate includes

  • core banking processes,
  • business-critical supporting processes,
  • banking products,
  • required IT infrastructure, locations and employees, as well as
  • security governance function for RBI Group and security processes for subsidiaries.

The changes in technology have brought enormous advantages. However, they also require the constant adaptation and further development of security measures from a technical and organisational perspective. The following documents provide an overview of what is being done at RBI to protect information and the technical infrastructure.

RBI takes protecting the exchange of information via e-mail seriously. Since October 2019, all e-mail communication with external recipients is therefore transmitted exclusively via secure and encrypted channels by enforcing Transport Layer Security (TLS).

Raiffeisen Bank International acts as a supporting partner of the #NoMoreRansom initiative.

Ransomware is a type of malware that prevents or restricts users' access to their systems or devices. Victims are forced to either pay a ransom or lose their files. The public-private partnership between law enforcement and industry leaders is an initiative in collaboration with Europol and the EC3 European Cybercrime Centre.
